The Bomb Potion is an iconic item in the Gauntlet universe and has been around since the beginning. It's often simply referred to as 'Potion'. When used, it damages all enemies on-screen, equivalent to the user's Magic stat. The potion will still explode if shot, but it won't be as powerful.

Appearances[]

Gauntlet[]

Bombs and Keys share the inventory, so players must be careful to not completely fill up on one item in lieu of another.

Gauntlet: The Third Encounter[]

Gauntlet III: The Final Quest[]

Gauntlet IV[]

Gauntlet: Legends[]

Gauntlet: Legends adds a few new functions to the Bomb Potion, not the least of which are different elemental properties. The bomb's blast radius, as well as the damage, increases along with user's Magic stat. Heroes may hold up to 9 Bomb Potions and it's always good to have a few on hand, especially for dealing with Death. If used within range of a locked chest with Death inside, the contents of the chest will become Food instead. They can be purchased in Sumner's Tower. As characters reach certain level tiers, Bomb Potions will have added effects, some dependent upon the class. Note that enemy Snipers can ignite Bomb Potions. The elemental type of Bomb potion cannot be selected, but it will be of the last type acquired.

  • Grenade: Lobs the magic potion forward a few feet grenade-style, which then explodes. Very useful for thinning out hordes and damaging Generators behind a mob. This is done by holding the Bomb button.
  • Shield: Creates a damaging elemental shield around the user, like the Fire Shield or Lightning Shield. It's a very short-lived effect, though. This is activated by rapidly pressing the Bomb button twice.

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy[]

The new hero classes have specific Bomb Potion effects when they reach certain levels, such as the ability to turn Junk into Treasure.
